You must have missed the last run Perry or you're not aware of the fact that Ron has been running VERY safe settings.

Considering the gearbox setback, the soft settings and the fact this is the first race event, the times are quite respectable in my opinion.

For anyone who doeasn't know the times, Ron has posted a best for this weekend (so far) of 9.2 secs which is approx. 0.5 secs slower than No. 1 qualifier, so I'd say Ron has a GOOD chance of winning the event.

Ron will be up against one of our other customers in the class (Stuart Williams in the Supra), who has just run a new PB of 9.0 but although his time is quicker than Ron's and he (like Ron) has plenty left in hand, I'm predicting that if both cars ran the same times against each other, Ron would take the win, because he doesn't have to worry about building the boost whilst staging (as Stuart does), which will give him at least a 0.5 sec advantage.

I left before Ron put in his last run yesterday as I had to get back to a family gathering that I snuck out of, for 9 hours. :)

We could see he was safe and very rich.

Thats good news. Well done Ron :)

Sounds like its coming together for both then. I've not had a chance to view the webcam today either. The webcam is a lot better now as well isnt it. Just like real telly

The web cam is better than being there now.

Bad news, Ron lifted the front end higher than ever before and when it landed it blew the tires off. From then on he was playing catch up.

Missed Stuarts run somehow but the RT was about 2 seconds so I guess he had problems with getting the boost up in time (as I expected).

Consequently both went out in the first round but as far as I know (spoken to Ron so that's certain), all is well and they'll be ready to improve on things at the next event. 8)

Just for the record, one of my longest standing customers (Leigh Morris in the green E-type Jag) WON this weekends event in his class (10.9 I believe) and continues to be not only my customer with most wins to his credit but probably a contender for most ever wins to his name, as he's been racing and winning for many years now and he's had to run to within 0.01 secs of better on every run to achieve that.

Thanks for all the support guys.

Easter through my eyes.

Thursday we set off at 3 pm all going well till the front wheel bearing collapsed on the motorhome at newbury ish. I had the motorhome trailer can car recovered to the pod on the back of what has to be said as massive truck.( bare in mind my combo is 48ft)
Image
Finally finished setting up about 2.30 am. Up at 6 to sign on while the lads cleaned the car srutineered and ready to race by 9.

first run: no gas(new engine) 11 something
run2: 150 shot in over 2 seconds, let go of the transbrake hard hit then no first gear very early shift to second 10.2.
Back in the pits pull our new £5k promod box we had stripped the brake band, box rebuilt.
Run 3: another check out pass9.8
Run 4: over fuelling and stalled
Run 5: still fuelling problems but 9.2
eliminations
We drew Dave Murdock in his 33 Willy's
the plan was to hit it a little harder of the line the result was wheels up to the ponit I couldn't see the track. while the wheels were up the rears broke free and the car turned towards the tree. As Trev said then it was chase time but the fact that the reaction was 0.05 60ft over 2 seconds,1/4 was 9.5 @153 are all good signs.

if you can watch it in slowmo
