 She passed the MoT today first time! I'd forgotten how much I enjoy driving the car on the street. The whole thing was filmed for this season's "Hardcore Street" DVD so don't forget to buy a copy in October when it's released.

Dont Worry Ian!!

I'll have my copy to watch next Xmas as usual. You know how you always used to get shirts and socks from the family?

Well my Xmas list to the kids etc always contains the SE DVD as its one of those pressies I'm really happy to get. I started this back in 2004 when I went to the Pod and saw the SE cars for the first time. Since then I've been one of the geeks who follows SE and was lucky enough to find that You and Ron are WON folk.
I also have regular chats at events with several of the other guys like Steve Pateman, Splinter, Moose, Colin etc. But its nice to know that I have something in common with a couple of you guys. And if it wasnt for Brain advising me on my rear suspension last year I may have given up and not even got into the 10's :)
Who would have thought that a pair of home made slapper bars would take me from regular 11.08's to regular 10.6's??

Now I'm gunning for a flat 10 or a high 9 this season in a junkyard car with and old smoker of a Rover V8 engine with some of Trevs stuff bolted on.

I'll be at the Easter meet on Sat or Sun to say hello and grab that cuppa from the tour bus that I missed last year :D

And I appologise in advance for the grilling I'll give Brain about my spider plate setup 8)
But as long as I get a brew with milk and one sugar I'll calm down
Hopefully Moo will make it again this year as well...

Good luck for this season mate
Regards
Perry

I had a great day today. Me and Tricky holed up with the Fat boys Team for ages and got some good info from Brain. The Big Man himself (Ian) even made us a cuppa. I'm going to try and download a vid I got on my little cam to show just how hard Ians car was punching off the line :)

Thanks for the hospitality today Ian and Brain. I still think Ian has the reactions of a Ninja :)

Regards
Perry

Hi all. Just a quicky as I'm sure the Brain will fill you in with the really tech stuff. I'm just there to stab and steer really. The problem was two-fold.

Firstly, the ARB we fitted in an attempt to counteract the pull to the right we were experiencing last year caused big problems as the car heeling over to the right caused the left rear to lose traction spearing the car to the left (as only the RH wheel was driving - think fiddle brakes!).

Secondly, even with the ARB off, the car was still a handful until (after advice from Jon Webster, proprietor of Webster Race Engineering and all-round good guy) Martin found a dodgy spring platform. With that sorted the car went straight but spun the wheels (semi-final). For the final a bit of Brain shock tuning magic saw us hook & haul for an 8.26 to defeat the 2009 champion, Lazenby.

For those comparing times please remember that it was very (VERY) cold, there was a strong headwind, the track was poor (by SPR standards), we'd turned down the wick (via the Max Extreme - had my first lesson on it - awesome) and that, by the time the final came around, we were a long, long way from our baseline with suspension. Rest assured there is more to come.

BTW, nice vid Mr Moo. The incident looks relatively minor until it's freeze framed and you can see I am on two wheels!

So you are.

And, yes, Mr Moo unfortunately there are two camps within FB Racing with regard to tea & coffee. The "Lateshift Team" (that's Pauly B and anyone in the least bit associated with Paul's business) all have two sugars whereas, surprisingly perhaps, none of the "FB Team" (which is everyone else) have sugar at all. Anyone outside of these choices is automatically branded as "odd".

It wasnt Moo who did the Vid Ian. It was my good self Perry. AKA MGBV8 :)

Times are just a reference eh Ian? The track was a handfull for sure. Me and Tricky were watching from the banking and there were some real out of shape passes going on for cars with power like yours makes.
That lad with the black and white Vette (I wont mention the team name!!) who seemed to be a new SE contender was doing his first full power run after, I assume, doing his observed burnout, launch etc and managed to keep his foot in even after the turbos spooled and lit the tyres. He managed a J turn in the right lane without crossing the line and stuffed it into the right wall within about 200 feet??
From the looks of it his throttle must have jammed or he froze when it went out of shape.
At least he walked away like all the other guys who came a cropper on Sunday.

Anyway!
Here is the Big Man himself serving up 2 "odd" cuppa's and a smile for fellow WON fans, me and Tricky.

With a bit of luck you'll be taking a similar picture of Ian at the end of the year but the mugs will be replaced with a couple of trophies.

If that pic of Ian was being taken by the TV guys, my face would have been seen peeking through the curtain behind like Eric Morcecombe used to do :) :D :D

Although my wife tells me I've got a face for Radio, but not TV
