Hi there, this is my first post so bear with me. I'm currently installing my 150d system and water methanol inj to my 1.6 tdci, the system is micro switch activated. If my max rpm is 5k, what is a safe rpm to floor the throttle?, as I know to do this at say 1500rpm in 5th would be bad.

That depends on a number of factors;
1) The amount of nitrous you are adding - up to 25 could be used at ANY rpm

AS LONG AS

2) The engine is FREE & ABLE to accelerate

For example you could use ANY amount of nitrous in 1st gear at ANY rpm but if you tried to add say 50 HP when you were in top gear struggling to drive up a steep hill at ANY rpm, you could damage your pistons by activating the nitrous system.

These are 2 extremes and obviously as the conditions change the safe time to use the system will change.

Ok thanks trev. I'm starting with the 25hp and my minimax set for 3 secs build up, so it should be all good. Let you know how it goes.

I used to take my TDi up to 4000 rpm on the drag strip because that is what the tuner told me to do. I did a roiling road day and found that peek torque was 2600 rpm. I started changing gear so that I drove through this rev range. Changing by 3000rpm and dropping back to 2200ish. Instantly dropped 0.75s of my time. It works the same when the N2O is turned on. I now have a new cam and peek torque is at 3100. If i'm not driving to that it really affects the performance with and without the N2O. The dyno graph should tell you when you want the N2O on.

Cheers for that tip.

I ll bear that in mind when its RR mapped, see what rpm max torque occurs. :yes:
